The Manhattan Project tour provides a fascinating insight into the vast scale of the Manhattan Project and the life of Robert Oppenheimer. During the tour, you will visit the birthplace of Dr. Oppenheimer, known as the "Father of the Atomic Bomb," and the sites of the Manhattan Project's origins. The Manhattan Project, which led to the creation of the atomic bomb, began in Lower Manhattan in mid-June 1942 when General Leslie Groves established its first office. Dr. Oppenheimer was appointed the project's scientific director in the same year. Along with his team of brilliant scientists and engineers, he oversaw the construction and testing of the first atomic bomb at Los Alamos.

A walk down beautiful Riverside Drive, encompassing a stop at the Fireman’s Memorial, The Soldiers and Sailors Monument, and other landmarks. Riverside Drive was designed by the same men who designed Central Park and Riverside Park. It has a timeless quality and is little changed from when it was constructed.
